The Lance of Marduk
Lady of Hammerfast
Birgit Mulonth is the current head of the dwarven noble house Mulonth, which rules over the trading city of Hammerfast on the extreme western edge of the Dawnforge Mountains. Due to her proximity to the surface world and the influence that it has on the population of Hammerfast, many other noble houses are concerned about Mulonth’s forward-thinking policies and desire to reduce the isolationism that the Dawn Holds have clung to for centuries. Even the other liberal houses fear Mulonth to some extent, due to her unique position and interactions with the surface world (though she ventures to the overcity only on very rare occasions). Despite this opinion of her, her “radical” policies often pale in comparison to those of other prominent dwarven nobility, such as Thera Tinger-Torgen and Malton (Blackstone) Loderr.
Mulonth recently took advantage of the documents legitimizing the Blackstone line to declare her own intentions for the throne of the Dawn Holds, a move entirely unseen and unexpected by the majority of the noble houses. This action threw the moot (a council of noble houses to decide the next monarch) into chaos, delaying the proceedings for an entire day in addition to the two days of while the aforementioned papers were recovered from the Loderr manor by the Lance of Marduk. While Mulonth’s true intentions are not entirely known, she is shown herself to be intelligent and clever, taking little action without a clear benefit to her. Of particular note is her interest with Bjorn Torgnür, who she clearly appears to want as an ally, even going so far as to suggest ending his exile and reinstating his birthright as the heir to Dawn.
